The landowner offered to offset the loss of wildlife habitat and appealed the decision. This week the Planning Inspector has overturned the 2013 UDC Planning Committee decision. These homes are in addition to both the 123 already approved by UDC for Thaxted under their draft Local Plan, and the 120 proposed by developer Gladman.
