Planning Application: Thaxted (120), West of Walden Rd; Gladman (UTT/14/1033/OP, UTT/14/3300/OP)


Development of up to 120 homes on farmland to the north-west of Thaxted, between Walden Rd and Watling Lane. Outline planning permission was refused by Uttlesford District Council. Developer Gladman appealed the decision and also submitted a second application for 100 homes on the same site as a fall back. This was also refused by UDC. Subsequently the Planning Inspectorate dismissed the appeal and upheld the refusal of permission for both the 120 and 100 home schemes.
