The Planning Inspectorate provides a regularly updated council league table that shows the progress of each council’s Local Plan through the key stages of delivery from ‘no-plan’ to ‘adopted’. Needless to say, Uttlesford is still at the ‘no-plan’ stage.
In the latest August 2013 update UDC has been grouped in the lowest performing 25% of all district councils in the country because they haven’t even published a new Local Plan yet. The Uttlesford Local Plan, which was supposed to have been adopted in 2011, is still in draft form having been overwhelmingly rejected by residents in 2012. And the current draft of the Uttlesford Local Plan will require significant rework before it is published and sent for review as it is likely to be found unsound by the Planning Inspectorate.
